You may need an eating disorders therapist for help with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, or a food addiction.
Maybe you aren’t sure that you have an eating disorder. Think of it this way: If your decisions about food and weight are based on your emotions or body hatred, you may not be eating in a healthy way. If you overeat, binge, cut way back on calories, over-exercise, go on repeated diets and rebound in weight – this may be an eating disorder. If you can’t stop thinking about your weight or your eating, this is another sign.
As your eating disorders therapist, I will help you evaluate the seriousness of the situation and tell you how I might help.
I have 30 years of experience as a full-time eating disorders therapist and specialist.
My private practice is a warm, supportive, personal alternative to large treatment centers.
My approach is to start with a careful evaluation and to respect that struggling with an eating disorder is a person’s attempt to cope. Together, we explore the meaning of the symptoms and work on finding healthier, more effective ways of handling stress, emotional pain, and relationship problems.
Treatment options include individual, family, and group therapy.
For professionals, I offer consultation and training. For the public, I offer workshops and public speaking tailored to the needs of your organization.
I am committed to the Health at Every Size® philosophy, and to promoting the equality of all human beings.
